Pizza Hut Just Brought Back Their Legendary P’Zone, And Fans Are Rejoicing

For many of us, Pizza Hut was our first introduction to pizza. There was something so warm and inviting about the entire atmosphere — from the red plastic cups to knowing that at this particular establishment, it was encouraged to get a personal pan pizza all for yourself. Then when we grew up, we tried Pizza Hut’s other concoctions. For one, the P’Zone.

Likely a personal favorite of calzone fanatic Ben Wyatt from Parks & Recreation, the P’Zone was a brand new way to enjoy Pizza Hut pizza.

It was pretty much what pizza would be like if it was folded over, with all the ingredients inside. So, practically a version of a calzone. Or a stromboli, but slightly more portable.

You’d assume that since the P’Zone more or less uses a bunch, if not all, of the same ingredients as a standard pizza, it’d still be on the menu. But alas, it was discontinued years ago in locations based in the United States.

While it was gone, it definitely wasn’t forgotten. Fans of the P’Zone went so far as to create a change.org petition to try and reinstate the menu item. Yes, seriously.

“Years ago, we lived in a nation where freedom to express yourself was limited. Until Pizza Hut unveiled their P’Zone… This half pizza/half calzone has changed the lives of many Americans. Including my own. Pizza Hut has managed to bring back the P’Zone a record 2 times in the new millennium, but every time it comes back, it is swiftly shut down,” pizza activist David Faison wrote.

Other countries made it available, but until now, America wasn’t on the list. It only added salt to the wound.

In order to help celebrate the company serving as the Official Pizza of NCAA March Madness, the P’Zone is available once again.

Three types will be on the menu, according to Delish — Pepperoni, Meaty, and Supremo.

Those seem slightly different from the original flavors offered by Pizza Hut, but I trust the company knows what they’re doing.

After all, they invented the P’Zone in the first place.

Just nine months ago, a Redditor named Candlemakecakebake posted in the Pizza Hut reddit about the P’Zone.

It’s possible that that’s where they may have gotten the idea from, as nine months seems like adequate time to bring back such a beloved menu item.

Back then, P’Zone fans were all about possible hacks to use, since it seemed like the P’Zone may have been gone for good. They’re still important to know, just in case.

Even better, a former Pizza Hut employee admitted this was a valid hack. Is there anything Pizza Hut dough can’t create?

Reddit is apparently the best place for Pizza Hut secrets. It seems like a lot of people were willing to give intel to help this user’s taste buds once again experience the P’Zone.

But hopefully, that hack will no longer be necessary. Fingers crossed the new P’Zones taste just as good as they did years ago.

“We are excited to bring back the P’Zone as part of our $5 Lineup during a time when family and friends will be gathering in anticipation and excitement,” Pizza Hut chief brand officer Marianne Radley said, per Delish.

“Even if your team doesn’t advance in the tournament, the comeback of the P’Zone is something we know all fans can rally around.”

And, she’s right.

One look at Twitter will prove that plenty of fans are rallying behind their decision.

Plenty of fans were happy that the news broke right before lunch. Because a Monday afternoon P’Zone will just make the week better.

In fact, there were few criticisms of the P’Zone.

It’s amazing how many happy moments are tied with it.

So, why did Pizza Hut discontinue it in the first place? Hopefully, they won’t make the same mistake in the future.

Of course, Pizza Hut made fans work for the big reveal.

They’ve been teasing the comeback for a few days, which built up a ton of anticipation.

Some fans had pretty wild guesses. But a couple got it right — especially since the Pizza Hut app may have given the surprise away a little early.

Fingers crossed that it stays on the menu for quite some time.

March Madness will only last a couple of intense days, but the Pizza Hut P’Zone needs to stick around, at the very least, until the end of the year.
