Even if you’re single this year, have no fear — two of the universe’s favorite men have something special for you this Valentine’s Day. We’re referring to Ben & Jerry’s, who are not afraid to push boundaries. They’re also crucial in bringing flavor combinations together that you’ve likely never thought of before. Like potato chips and fudge in a vanilla base, as they did with Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night Snack. (If only Fallon didn’t switch gigs — The Tonight Dough just doesn’t have the same ring to it.)
Just in time for the day of love, Ben & Jerry’s is bringing a flavor called “Love Is…”, which is in their “Topped” ice cream line. The flavor is one of five new ones, but it’s the only one that’s pink. Thus, it’s definitely special.
“Love Is…” joins Pretzel Palooza, Salted Caramel Brownie, Chocolate Caramel Cookie Dough, and Strawberry Swirled. This series features toppings directly under your pint lid. Or as their slogan states, “Layered With Good From ‘Topped’ To Bottom.”
This flavor in particular is also interesting, since it sounds a little weird. Unlike the others, which you can pretty much guess the taste of, “Love Is…” features “buttery brown sugar ice cream with pink salted caramel cups, a cookie swirl, a pink topping, and heart-shaped chunks,” according to its package. Hmm.
It seems like a sweet flavor — literally. And those pink salted caramel cups look a little too good to be true.
Ice cream fans definitely agree that this new flavor will brighten up any Valentine’s Day.

But to be fair, there’s plenty of Ben & Jerry’s fans out there that would have probably supported it regardless of the flavor. Because in the ice cream world, they’re known for being one of the best.
Only one guy working at DQ. Oh yeah, and the "vanilla line is frozen". Takes me back to when they "ran out of malt". Bet this doesn't happen at #benandjerrys

But let’s circle back to “Love Is…”. According to Ben & Jerry’s U.K. website, they have a few definitions of what love actually is, meaning this ice cream has some emotional layers to it. Valentine’s Day doesn’t just mean you need to share things and buy presents for the person you love — it also means that you should really go out there, have an open mind and heart, and help others who may really need it.
“We’ve partnered with our friends Refugee Action because we want to give a megacone -ahem, megaphone- to the people who stand up for love and give refugees a warm welcome,” they state. “So, our flavour gurus have concocted a new flavour from the heart; it’s an all-new buttery brown sugar ice cream, which we love, and a handful of pink hearts were (lovingly) thrown on top for good measure. Let’s show love to people seeking safety.”
Great to see @cajardineMP introduce her Presentation Bill to give people seeking asylum the right to work. We urge the Government to listen to politicians across parliament who support lifting the ban, along with the public and businesses nationwide. #LiftTheBan pic.twitter.com/aIUbvbFvk9

They also recommend taking action by visiting Refugee Action online and sending a sweet message to a refugee who would really benefit from it.
A HUGE thank you to @Kindredagency who raised an incredible £4640 in 2018 for our work supporting refugees and people seeking asylum. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/QM63Y4kiTY

The organization is located in the U.K. And… that’s where the bad news comes in. Not to lift your spirits and instantly make them crumble, but according to Bustle, this ice cream will only be available in the U.K. You may have gotten the hint when their website used “flavour” instead of “flavor.” So, that’s kind of a big bummer for those of us located elsewhere.

But who knows? Ben & Jerry’s is known for listening to their audience. They’ve brought back flavors before, and have actually created new products based on customer demand.
We heard that you wanted more mint flavors. Please meet our newest pint slice, AmazeMint! 3 mint ice cream bars with chocolatey covered mint cookie balls, covered in a dark chocolatey coating with cookie crumbs. Coming soon to freezers near you. https://t.co/YyQUZoCLzU pic.twitter.com/sujVErGjlE

So, you may not be out of luck. Because what is love? Love is… being able to eat pink ice cream regardless of your location while supporting an amazing cause.
