Ever get the urge to record someone who’s simply flipping out about something? With smartphones, we can pretty much catch anything on camera — especially our weirdly good-looking parents, who lose their minds over good Costco deals.
Okay, let’s back up here: TJ Musto, 25, sneakily recorded his dad (who is ridiculously good-looking, ahem, not that it matters) going nuts over the magic that is Costco. He’d never been to the store before (and we do wonder how he even got around their labyrinthine aisles), but boy, was he happy he stopped by.
As luck would have it, TJ’s video went viral.
As Tom shouts about water! and sausages! and marinara sauce!, TJ pushes his dad to tell him what else he got. The guy’s face was all smiles, and we get it. Scoring a deal is a big, well, deal, especially when you’ve been paying much more money before realizing you didn’t have to.
Right as the video ends, Tom says that he’s going to get a Costco card from someone for his birthday. Ah, the things we adults live for: discount cards. It’s a spicy life we lead!
[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=36&v=YLmdbOnuOqo"]The video is sitting at about 6.5 MILLION views and has earned Tom’s dad the nickname of “hot Costco dad” — which is pretty hilarious.
Tell ur dad to hmu and I’ll get him a Costco card rn https://t.co/r7wzqJsGQS

Apparently, though, Tom was not prepared to have his grocery-unpacking moment turn into a confidence-boosting spectacle: “About being ‘hot Costco dad’ … it’s a bit overwhelming, I thought this would have died after a day. It’s just crazy,” he told CNBC.
No offense but is your dad single and if so plz let me go to Costco with him bc damn 😍 https://t.co/pJOV2n42Oa

“My kids video me all the time when I don’t know it; they think I am funny,” he said. TJ, his son, also mentioned that his dad is newly single, so the extra attention is kind of a boost.
This dad’s reaction to his first trip to Costco has the internet going wild! | @CarleyShimkus pic.twitter.com/i9VltyBtkn

This headline is pretty perfect. And not untrue:
‘Hot’ dad went to Costco for the first time and accidentally became an internet sex symbol https://t.co/akh9SUAX0M pic.twitter.com/WMbVdhjkuv

Ah, Costco. Where dreams come true! Apparently, the viral video is spawning inside jokes on Twitter:
my dad went to costco 18 yrs ago and i haven’t seen him since https://t.co/vvJfsJdLn1

Meanwhile, other dads are flipping out over macarons, aka tiny hamburgers. Aw.
MY DAD AND I WERE IN COSTCO AND HE GOES “Oh wow look at those little hamburger things sal”
— sal: (@saltpacketsally) March 30, 2019
THEY WERE MINI MACAROONS and he was being serious.
Some dads will even play golf at Costco.

My dad loves golf probably more than anyone I know. He will demonstrate the proper swing in the middle of Costco if you ask him. pic.twitter.com/GIbiuEeOF4
And other dads live in Costco fashion. Proudly.
But there’s nothing better than the dad who buys a karaoke machine at Costco. And then gets recorded singing and dancing.
Look, we all know how Costco is. You go in looking for some dish soap and you come out with lawn furniture, amiright?
Costco is rlly something else. I walked into Costco to pick up a shrimp platter for my dad. I left with the shrimp platter, a package of 1000 makeup wipes, a frozen pizza, and a 43 inch TV for my room pic.twitter.com/swgnc14hyC

Or maybe you go in for some lobster or cake? Whatever you need, it’s there in that giant warehouse of dad dreams.
It’s pretty relatable dad content for everyone everywhere:
This is literally my dad after Bayonne got a Costco https://t.co/NQ1EI0XvXf

Because everyone just wants a magical Costco card so they, too, can purchase 60 cans of peas, a COFFIN, and some caviar. One nice dad shared it with their kid:
the highlight of my day was my dad adding me to his Costco membership & getting my own picture ID membership card so it’s only up from here

In the end, we hope Tom enjoys his newfound status as a Costco-loving sex symbol.
There’s nothing better than getting a deal — and maybe a date.
