Our Brains Cannot Comprehend The Hot Chicken Wing And Wasabi Oreo Flavors

weird oreo flavors

We’re usually pretty stoked to try weird special-edition flavors of our favorite snacks — bring on the Bacon Mac & Cheese Lays. But honestly, we’re having a very hard time wrapping our heads around these two new Oreo flavors. We’ll try them, but we’re still weirded out.

In an August 21st tweet, Oreo’s parent company Mondelēz International introduced us to two bizarre Oreo flavors recently launched in China: Hot Chicken Wing and Wasabi.

These two new Oreo flavors certainly seem “BIG and BOLD,” as Mondelēz International described them. The Hot Chicken Wing Oreo boasts a bright orange filling, whereas the Wasabi Oreo unsurprisingly rocks green cream. And both flavors have seemingly kept the chocolate wafer, which leaves us scratching our heads even more. But hey, they wouldn’t be a thing if they didn’t taste good, right? Right?

Oreo has yet to release any additional information on either cookie via their website, but we’re anxiously awaiting some sort of explanation. Was Oreo dared to do this? Did the company lose some kind of bet?

Whatever the case may be, people are pretty thrown by Hot Chicken Wing and Wasabi Oreos. In fact, Twitter is ablaze with hilarious reactions to Mondelēz International’s announcement.

Generally, the fans aren’t really feeling either flavor. Like, at all.

Oh, we’re all too familiar with the durian. In fact, let’s thank Oreo for not bringing the durian to Milk’s Favorite Cookie like McDonald’s did to their McFlurry.

If these flavors are ever shipped over to the U.S., we’ll give them the old college try. But don’t expect us to enjoy them, Oreo. You’ve set yourself up for some volatile feedback. Just saying.

Don’t know what Oreo flavor to try next? Don’t worry. We ranked our favorites for you, and you can find that list right here.
