Coca-Cola’s New Flavor Is One You’ll Want To Try

Drinking Faygo might not be your thing, but the product is a dream for people who like a lot of flavors. Shockingly, they have over 50. The Coca-Cola lineup isn’t quite as vast, but with this new product, it looks like they’re not afraid to be equally as bold.

Now, yes — technically, it’s new to people in the United States. Those who live in the U.K. were able to try it and enjoy it late last year. Since the internet is a wonderful place, we Americans were able to hear about the international release and wonder why our flavors weren’t quite as courageous.

Coca-Cola may have heard our pleas. Because, we’re getting Cinnamon-flavored Coke, which might be the perfect way to warm up your winter. Even though it’s still summer, and we need to get through fall first.

The flavor was first announced in October of 2018. Those in the U.K. got to try the flavor out in Coke Zero form. According to a press release, it was created “in response to the general public’s love of the flavor. The new addition to the Coca-Cola family is bursting full of warming flavors and is guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit as we head into the Christmas season.”

During the release, Delish talked to a spokesperson who said that there were no plans to bring it to the U.S. So, it’s especially great that they changed their minds.

The news was reported by the Instagram account CandyHunting. With the photo, they also added a fun fact.

“Cola is a mix between citrus and brown spice flavors.” they wrote. “Coca-Cola leans more toward the spice side and Pepsi leans more toward citrus. Adding extra cinnamon flavor will kick up that brown spice an extra notch.”

So, if you’ve been debating whether or not you’re a Pepsi person or a Coke person? Maybe that news would help. Speaking of, Pepsi has also released a cinnamon soda in the past.

In 2017, they introduced Pepsi Fire. But, the world might not have been ready for it.

“Summer is one of the most anticipated times of the year, and Pepsi Fire is going to ignite this season with an unexpected and spicy twist to our classic cola taste,” Lauren Cohen, Director of Marketing at Pepsi had said in a press release. The soda was only available for a limited time.

It is interesting to see the release dates. Pepsi Fire was a summer drink, while Coca-Cola is aiming for a winter release for its cinnamon soda.

I have to say, Coca-Cola got this one right. Who wants a spicy drink while you’re out in the sun?

It must be said that this variety will also probably be great for your mixed drinks. If you’re a fan of mixing soda in with your vodka or whiskey, you might want to give this one a shot.

That said, there are still plenty of people who don’t seem ready for the cinnamon soda. Maybe that’s because it’s hard to imagine winter being right around the corner.

Or, maybe they just want to keep things traditional. For some soda enthusiasts, nothing beats a Cherry Coke, so why even bother releasing new flavors?

If you’re watching your calories, here’s some good news. Delish reports that when the soda launches in the United States, it’ll also come in a Coke Zero variety.

That means that you’ll be getting the same thing you’d have gotten last year in the U.K. If you happened to be traveling abroad during its 2018 release, you’re lucky to experience debut day twice.

Still on the fence? Just remember, Coca-Cola hasn’t had too many fails when it comes to flavors before. And if you try it and hate it, this seems like it’ll only be part of the soda aisle for a very limited time.
