This Breakfast Chain Turned Your Favorite Holiday Villain Into Pancakes

Pancakes are pretty versatile — but for the super complicated designs, you’d probably prefer leaving it up to a pro. That’s why IHOP wants to draw you in with their new holiday pancakes that are inspired by your ultimate favorite Christmas villain — the Grinch.

Grinch pancakes are just one of the six new menu items you can grab at the popular chain, but they’re arguably the best. Probably because much like the Grinch himself, they’re green in color. Normally, you should steer away from green pancakes. But this time, you get a pass.

Not only are the menu items helpful in reminding you that the winter holidays are just around the corner, but they’re also a great way to celebrate the brand new animated movie, The Grinch. It’s different than the animated classic you already know and love. This one contains CGI and features the vocals of Benedict Cumberbatch. Sure — Cumberbatch doesn’t give off the “Grinch” vibe in real life, but based on the trailer, he makes it work.

But, back to the pancakes. Aside from being a grinchy green, they’ve got a lot to offer. One order gets you two buttermilk pancakes topped with sweet cream cheese icing, red candy hearts, and a whipped green topping.

The hearts are likely due to the fact that — spoiler alert — the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes during Christmas. Or, maybe they’re a reminder that even the evilest villain can have a change of heart.

In case pancakes aren’t your thing, IHOP is also serving up Minty Who Hot Chocolate, a Who-Roast Beast Omelette, and Whoville Holiday Cheesecake French Toast to celebrate the film. There are also two new arrivals on the kid’s menu, one which incorporates a Grinch pancake alongside other breakfast fare.

The Grinch hits theaters on November 9th. Grabbing one of these treats after the show is a great way to help celebrate the season!
