You know the old saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? It might just be us, but we think that phrase applies to this situation. Someone decided to put pancakes on pizza, and why, oh why, would you do that?
Dubbed the “Hot Cakes” ‘za by Toronto’s Lamanna’s Bakery, this giant slice of cheesy pie is topped with mini pancakes, strips of bacon, pats of butter, and maple syrup. It’s a breakfast-for-dinner experience gone wild.
For those who are familiar with the creations of Lamanna’s, the pancake pizza probably isn’t that much of a shocker. The place is known for going nuts with their pizza toppings. Before the pancake pizza, the bakery previously debuted a tortellini-topped pizza, a grilled cheese-topped pie, and one of their signature giant pizza slices topped with mini slices of pizzas. We demand to know what kind of operation they’re running.
The famous Canadian bakery also serves up traditional ‘zas like pepperoni, Sicilian, and plain old cheese. But with insane toppings being offered like pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches, you might as well step out of your comfort zone to get in on the pizza madness.
And calling it “pizza madness” may be an understatement.
Though we just can’t seem to get on board with the Hot Cakes pizza, this French fry pizza looks more than appetizing:
As does their calamari and grilled lemon pizza:
And, hello — we weren’t kidding about the grilled cheese-topped pie!
Lamanna’s is really doing the most when it comes to pizza. And although we’d like to remain a critic in regards to that pancake topping, we guess we’d be willing to give it a try.
