Ali Wong’s New Netflix Show Always Be My Maybe

always be my maybe

When was the last time you watched a rom-com without eating something? I mean, rom-coms and food go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly (or bananas, depending on your style) — and it’s easy to see why. Both rom-coms and food spark joy, so it only makes sense to combine the two.

And thanks to actress and comedian Ali Wong’s newest Netflix film, you can now indulge in a rom-com that revolves around food.

In her new film Always Be My Maybe, Wong plays Sasha, a celebrity chef in San Francisco. The rom-com follows Sasha as she starts dating her childhood friend, Marcus, who is played by Randall Park. The script is written by Wong, Park, and Michael Golamco.

Wong recently posted a teaser trailer for Always Be My Maybe on her Instagram.

In the clip, we see Sasha and Marcus reunite at a farmer’s market, where Sasha hilariously describes a recent fling. (Marcus totally has a thing for her, though!)  The video post sparked a ton of excitement from fans and celebrities alike, including Lana Condor, Hannah Simone, and Krysten Ritter.

You can watch Always Be My Maybe on Netflix on May 31st

The film will also be available in select theaters.

BRB, marking our calendars!

If you’re a fan of Wong, comedy, and just good old cheesy romance, you’ll want to save the date too.

We love that Wong’s character plays a celebrity chef.

In real life, most top chefs are men.

So, it’s super cool to see a female portrayed as a celebrity chef.

Plus, Always Be My Maybe takes place in San Francisco, the land of amazing weather and even more amazing food.

We can’t wait to see what dishes are mentioned in the film.

The movie is directed Nahnatchka Khan.

Khan is known for her work on Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and Fresh Off the Boat.

If you’ve follow Wong on social media, you already know that she’s been on a roll.

Her new book, GIRLS: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, and Advice for Living Your Best Life, drops October 15th.

She’s also going on tour this summer.

Tickets are selling out fast!

This is clearly the year of Ali Wong.

Always Be My Maybe will be available on Netflix on May 31st.  Now, excuse us while we go mark our calendars.
