Back when I was a kid, almost every candy cane was peppermint. The only difference between candy canes was their size. But as time marched on, brand new varieties came out. Some amazing, some gross. Others, like pickle-flavored candy canes, were too scary to try. But one stood out from the rest, quite possibly because it was derived from America’s Favorite Cookie. Oreo candy canes debuted last year and are reportedly back on shelves for 2018. That’s something worth celebrating.
The candy canes, as expected, taste like cookies and cream. That means they’re the perfect dessert if you’re craving something sweet but are already stuffed thanks to the Christmas ham and potatoes your family prepared. (Even though that never stopped you from grabbing pie or ice cream before.)
“But isn’t it too early to think about Christmas?” you may ask. And you know what? You aren’t wrong. As a country, we haven’t given away all of our Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters just yet, so why move on to the winter favorites?
You don’t necessarily need to buy these right away, but they’re good to for when the time comes to really think about treats for the winter holidays. In other words, on November 1st.
